file warning
I keep getting a warning / FILE ERROR – UNKNOWN FILE / when I try to save my project file. This happens many times. When it does I trash prefs using fCP rescue. I also fix permissions onthe drive. Things are better after that, but the problem always returns.
When the problem is happening I can save the file to my raid or to the back drive but not to the system drive.
Any thoughts?

You don’t have any slashes (/) or other illegal characters in the file names, do you? Is the drive full? Assuming you’ve eliminated those, then I’d boot from an OS X startup CD & run the disk tools, followed by Disk Warrior.

As I look at the title of the project, there is a -in the name. The title is KINGS NITE 6-05. I have had other projects with dates as such. Does the hyphen cause issues? I did try to save as and change the name leaving off the hyphen but no good. Actually it did change the name. The project now reads the new name but it won’t save. I can save the project with the original title to any other drive. I will try to make repairs as suggested.

Hyphens are OK. I use them all the time in lieu of slashes. Stay away from commas, asterisks, ampersands, quotes & apostrophes.
