    hi all

i got three mac machine connected trough 8 port router LAN. i want file sharing “on” between these three, but i don’t want their drives available as local drive. i want to copy and move data between all these machine but i don’t want to make available these drive for applications such as final cut pro etc.

i got leopard in two computers and tiger in one.

What is the reason you don’t want the drives available for other applications? In my experience file sharing on the mac works very well and most applications wont touch the shared drives unless you tell the applications to do so.

One work around would be to just mount the shares when you need to copy data and then unmount it when you’re done.
