Give the file a name and see if you still get that error.

It doesn’t matter what the file name is. I tried everything from long file names to foobar. Even Untitled doesn’t work. And this happens sporadically and I have no idea why. I can’t find a pattern that reproduces it either. Shutting down and restarting Vegas mostly works.

It is just !@)!*(_*( bloody annoying.

Time to go back to square one.
What OS, what CPU, how much RAM, how many hard drives, what version of Vegas (Pro or Movie Studio), what version of DVDA, what’s on the timeline (stills, video & type of file), how long is the project?

Found the issue. Apparently, if you start with a blank unsaved workspace, you can’t Render As without getting that error. I was trying to do a quick audio edit and dropped a wav file into a blank project. Render As always gives the error. If I open a “blank” saved project and do the audio edit there (don’t save it) the error doesn’t happen.
