    Dear all,

I use power book G4 with 1256MB of RAM for editing with Final Cut Pro 5.
I set the scratch Disk to an external hard disk.
but, why while i was doing the editing, some files suddenly gone (become missing)??
    please help me with this.

did you move any materials to other folders? I have found that FCP is very picky on where files live. If the files still exist on the drive, you should be able to re-connect the file.

This happened to me, and Ned Soltz as well, a couple of times in FCP 4.0. It appeared to have gone away with 4.5. I certainly hope it hasn’t resurfaced again in 5.0. The only solution is to recapture the missing clips.

Thank you all for the response.

Sorry, i’ve just open my mail

actually i didn’t move the file.
in the sequence, the file just becoming offline, and i can’t find it in the hard drive 🙁 and the only thing i can tell my user is to recapture it again.

yah.. when using FCP 4.5 i didn’t have this problem.
don’t know why, and also it sometimes quite unexpectedly.

    Thank You Very Much
    Best Regards
