I am editing on FCP 7 on a mac Pro and exporting a 10 minute HD film to create an mp4. It goes for a while and then says file I/O error. any ideas?? I have exported this sequence many times before and it has been fine.

    Thanks

Try deleting renders, then re render… might fix you right up.

What was the codec used for the sequence and clip’s properties? ProRes or? There’s only about 150 flavors of HD out there… LOL.. might be a problem there too.

It fixed itself – I dumped preferences and voila. Codec XDCAM 1080i60 and changed timeline codec to apple pro res 422.

    Thank you!
