Do you guys still get this error with 6.0.4

I do, does everyone just live with it? or is there a fix that i can’t seem to search hard enough to find?

This usually happens when editors are working in a project for a period of time and then try to save and it tell them error unknown file.

They can then save to a alternate location and it seems to work.

    PLEASE HELP

    i’m running 10.5.4 w/ fcp 6.0.4

    Hi,

Are you working on a xsan? version?
If you are working on a shared storage with this problem the work flow should be something like this:
In the morning you copy your project folder to your desktop.
Open it and work from your desktop.
When you have created art and are going home for the evening:
Copy and overwrite the file back to the xsan where it came from.
And have an “Old Project files” folder on your desktop for the file that now lies on your desktop.

This way everyone can overwrite your work – and you have BACKUP!

I’m told that the problem comes with xsan 1.3 – don’t now the reason – just found a work around that we use.

    Cheers
    Andreas

yeah we’re running xsan 2.0, and the problem still excists.

That’s kind of how we’re doing it as a work around, but i’d like not to have to do that.

    thanks for the info.
