I have been working on a project for a few weeks. saving it along the way. I went on vacation for a few days and have come back to “Final Cut Pro HD cannot autosave your project unless you save it first. Would you like to save it now?” (even though I’ve been saving it). But when I try to Save Project , it won’t. I get “file error: unknown file. ” I’ll try Save Project As under a different name, but will get the same “unknown file” notice. Of course, I’m concerned the changes I’m making aren’t being saved… also I’m unable to convert this to a QT movie and get it to DVD since I’m prevented from saving the project under a title of any kind. Help and advice is greatly needed. I’ve heard of this before, but don’t know the reasons, or the cure.

Create a new project file. Name it. Save it. Then copy everything from the old to the new… then save again.
