File Copy -> Disappearing RAID
This may be a Mac OS X question, but it involves a file generated in FCP, so…
I made a ProRes 422 HD file, 33 minutes, 35 gigs. Plays fine, in sync, in FCP.
I backed up a bunch of files to a FW drive, one even larger than this one. Every time the copy procedure hits this file, it generates a “file can’t be read” message, ends the copy, and the RAID which is its home disappears. A restart brings the RAID back.
When I restart:
Disk Warrior – okay.
When I run Disk Utility while FCP is running, I get “Verify Volume failed with error: could not unmount the disk.” But the disk checks out fine when I exit FCP.
Any ideas what’s going on? Why I can’t copy the file? Why the copy operation makes the RAID go away?

Thanks!
