File compatibility between PP and Premiere elements
Does anyone know if you can start a job in elements and then open the job in PP for finishing? If so ,can you open a PP job up in elements?

Not like an Avid project, no. From what I hear, they are two totally different animals in terms of moving from one system to another.
If you really need to move a project into PPro, your best bet is to export each track from elements individually as a DV AVI and then import them into PPro for re-editing or finishing, but then you will loose the original clips and the ability to add a few frames here or there. But as of right now, I think this is probably your only way to do it.
I seriously doubt that this will be any different in PPro 2.0, but who knows.
