I’m editing a piece that has media I created in motion, when I originally did the project one of the motion parts was really bad quality on the DVD I created, a friend recommended I change the field dominance to none I’ve done this everywhere in motion and fcp, the sequence then looks good before I render and then loses quality after i render? but is still better than the original was. any ideas?

What is the Sequence setting in FCP? What is the Motion setting? Do they match? You should try to match exactly the Motion setting before rendering to the Sequence setting in FCP.

If you have any video media in the motion project you may need to make sure that it’s dominance is correctly set, much like you would in After Effects interpret footage window. I have inported backgrounds that come in with the field dominance set to none instead of upper or lower resulting in jerky video. Also have you tried turning on field rendering ?
