I have a project composed of a lot of interlaced video clips that fly back into 3D space with a 3D camera move on them, and whenever I try to render out my movie using the field rendering option, I end up with horrible looking thick black horizontal lines on each of my video clips within the frame. I have tried both lower field first and upper field first, both uncompressed and animation compressor Quicktimes, but the results are the same.

I am using AE 6.0 PE.

If anyone has any solutions for me, I’d appreciate it.

    Thanks,

    James

Did you separate fields when you imported the footage? It sound like you should have, if you didn’t. Check the AE help on “interpretation”.

Yesterday, as a test, I used the interpret fields function to separate the fields. I changed my sequence frame rate to 59.94, and then when making my movie I set the frame rate back to 29.97. Unfortunately, my video clips still ended up looking like they were shot through a venitian blind.

in the 3d aplication, what is the field order?

Sorry if I haven’t been clear. I haven’t used a separate 3d application, I’ve just been using the 3D functions in AE 6.0.

All of my source footage comes from uncompressed Quicktimes exported out of an Avid Meridian from an original Digibeta NTSC source (tapes digitized at 1 to 1 maximum resolution). When I experimented with interpreting my footage in AE, I used the lower field first setting.
