We will be doing our first project of this type shortly and are looking for advice on field recording gear. Presently we have a couple of AT897 shotguns and an AT835b shotgun. I’ve been looking at fishpoles, windjammers, blimps, etc. and getting a bit confused. Which one of our shotgun mics would be the prefered tool? I also have Lectrosonics wireless with countryman lavs, SM58s, a Sony ECM57 condenser, a few Beyer M88s, and an Electrovoice RE20. I’m sure most of the collection isn’t suited for field recording, so I’m assuming one of the shotguns is best, but then again, I don’t really know. We plan on using our Edirol R4 for recording with a feed to the camera for post production syncing. Any recommendations or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
