Hi all, I just need to double check something. I think it’s a happy surprise.

I have a DV-pal sequence that I media managed to SD Uncompressed and it looks like Final Cut not only changed the codec but also the field order. (DV-pal is lower field and SD-Pal uncompressed is upper field). Is this how it works now?

I was kind of set on having to apply a shift-fields filter to everything it looks like I am not going to have to do this. I know, RTFM but my client is going to be here in like 30 minutes and I wanted to conform my findings.

    As always

That’s the proper way. PAL Uncompressed 8/10b standard uses Upper First field order.
FC would get messed up with a Lower First 8/10b Unc file.

Yes, I know that. What I wanted to confirm was that the field order was fixed when you media manage. Something I haven’t seen before.
