  • field order problem in PAL DV – i need help :-(

My seqence is 16:9 anamorphic and so is the footage in DV SP PAL. I have a widescreen 2.35:1 matte on it. I have a huge field order problem, beacuse there’s around two houndred takes and each of them needs a seperate matte. I’m sure there’s a rule for the offset parameter to maintain the propper field order, but unfortunately i can’t see it. It always seem to me that something’s wrong. Sometimes the image gets blurry, sometimes ther’s a problem with top or bottom fields (they disappear). Please help me.

And also, what would you recommend, cause i need to QT export the seqence for the further de-interlacing:
Which export preset would get me the better results and less quallity loss?
Which preset should I use for my de-interlaced sequence, with or without field order?
Maybe there’s a better way to make my video progressive?

I’m on the powerbook and i use VGA monitor for the video preview.

    Hi,
    Field order:
Is all your footage the same field order/codec? If so; does the timeline and the clips have the same field dominance? (apple + zero for sequence settings and apple + 9 for clip settings)
If not, make a new sequence with the proper dominance and copy your clips in to the new timeline.
If Your clips has got a “shift fields” filter on their way to your timeline you can try marking them in the sequence and remove attributes/filters (this only works if you havn
