  • Field issues with an HDV downconvert.

I have footage that is HDV that I am trying to get to an NTSC DVD. It is my understanding that HDV has an upper field dominance. I am taking this footage and droping it in a NTSC project, so that I can create a letterbox and a center extract NTSC final. When I render this out, I am getting fielding issues. Does anyone have any advice on what to do to convert the upper fields of HDV to the lower fields of NTSC? Thanks in advance.

I’ve had no problem creating SD-DVDs from HDV sequences in FCP using compressor.
Just converted 6 segments with no issues using compressor and DVD Studio Pro. (Expect I still can’t figure out to make the disks letter boxed rather then showing the anamorphic stretch.)
