    Hey guys,

    I hope this hasn’t been asked before( as it seems like an obvious problem) as I was not able to find anything using search…

    I recently received something that came from DV source. It was captured, edited and then provided to me as one big DV file.

    The problem is that when I take it into FCP and play it out to a Digi (they required this as a deliverable) it was one field out – IE it looked ok, but on each cut you would see half of the previous frame.

    anyone have any tips on how I could fix this?

    Yes it is a field dominance problem because you’ve got cuts happening on field 2 rather than field 1. Confusingly this is not connected with FCP’s (incorrectly labelled) Field Dominance setting though which is really Field Order – the order of the fields within the same frame.
