    Hi all,
I was asked by a client to create a Photo Montage for her husband, who is a fanatic Raquetball player and loves Star Wars. The story is he has been playing the same guy for 3 years and has lost every time to him. Anyhow. Below is what I did. I’d love to hear your feedback. I used the following:

    Editing – Premiere Pro 1.5
    Compositing – After Effects
Particle Illusion – X-Wing Thrust, planet glow
    Invigorator – 3 D models (2 X-Wings)

Click on the first “PLAY”. The Star Wars Photo Montage.

    Specific feedback I’m looking for:
    1) Was it entertaining?
    2) What can I improve from a compositing point of view?
    3) What did you like.
    4) What did you hate?

    Thanks to everyone!

Obviously you’ve put a lot of work into this. I’ve done photo montages for my family and the scanning and image preparation itself takes quite a while. I would have liked some of the shots to hold longer, these kind of videos can be very emotional for the target audience and it’s worth holding some of the more powerful shots a little longer. Also I’d replace some of the cheesy transitions (clock wipes etc) with simple fades – the viewer will be able to see each shot slightly longer also.

Thanks for your feedback. The holding of photographs a bit longer is a good suggestion. The transitions where more like “Star Wars” transitions (at least the iris circle one). But I agree, I personally prefer simple dissolves, but the customer rules, and she wanted those kind of transitions.

    Cheers!
