    Hi all,
I was asked by a client to create a Photo Montage for her husband, who is a fanatic Raquetball player and loves Star Wars. The story is he has been playing the same guy for 3 years and has lost every time to him. Anyhow. Below is what I did. I’d love to hear your feedback. I used the following:

    Editing – Premiere Pro 1.5
    Compositing – After Effects
Particle Illusion – X-Wing Thrust, planet glow
    Invigorator – 3 D models (2 X-Wings)

    https://www.digitaldotsmedia.com/beta/ddmtv/

Click on the first “PLAY”. The Star Wars Photo Montage.

    Specific feedback I’m looking for:
    1) Was it entertaining?
    2) What can I improve from a compositing point of view?
    3) What did you like.
    4) What did you hate?

    Thanks to everyone!

First time I’ve used this product today and am enjoying it very much, so I just wanted to say that yr photo montage was a job well done, Chuck’ll love it. As for the opening titles and space, they were so cool.

But I thought at the end you were going to show us Chuck kicking Dave’s ass at Raquetball?

I’m impressed with your ‘camera work’ as it did a good job making the stills come to life. Personally I don’t care for the 3D transitions and find that cross-fades work well as they indicate passage of time which is what actually happened between the times the photos were taken. Last, a different choice of music would add more emotion and emotion is what these personal photo slide shows are all about.

A good job though and the above is just my opinion.

Would of love to have a picture of that, but the client didn’t have that! 😉

    Thanks for your feedback though.

Thanks for your feedback. I appreciate it. Re: the transitions, I’m with you. I prefer regular dissolves, but the customer is impressed with “moving” things, and she really wanted that. Re: the music, I used only Star Wars music for obvious reasons.

    Cheers!
