I am researching the following components to build a workstation for working with Adobe Creative Suite Production 4

I have selected an Antec P180 ATX mid tower case

    Processor:
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 Quad-Core Processor, 2.66 GHz, 12M L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB, LGA775 (I understand I can overclock this to 3+ghz without much difficulty).

    Motherboard:
    Intel DX48BT2 Extreme Series X48 Desktop Board, ATX, DDR3 1600, 3xPCIe x16, 1600MHz FSB, LGA775,

    Hard drive(s):
Seagate Baracuda Sata 300 drive for my applications

Drive two: another Sata drive (likely 500 gigs) for media storage with a plan to upgrade to Sata raid when I get into HD editing.

    Memory:
OCZ Platinum 4 gig DDR3 memory

    Power:
Corsair 750 Tx 750 watt power supply

    Cooling:
Two fans and perhaps a processor fan if recommended.

    Graphics:
Initially I will have an Nvidia Quadro fx540 graphics card with plans to upgrade to Nvidia Quadro 1700 for HD, HDV editing

    Operating System:
Running Windows XP professional for now

    Feedback/comments appreciated.

Overclocking often cause system instability. Suggest you put your new system through it’s paces for a while without overclocking.

Im not sure how much you’re spending, but I just bought a Vostro 410 from Dell – $900.
    I did add a 1 TB hard drive – total cost $1100.

How much are you spending and is it worth the extra cost?

My estimate at this time for this system is approx $1100.00 without the graphic card. I have an Nvidia card now (540). I looked at the Dell you mentioned and it doesn’t seem to have the same or comparable components.
