Just migrated After Effects and FCP from an ancient dual1G-G4 to a monstrous G5. Media 100’s insanely paranoid copy protection prevents me from launching the filters and, from all I can tell, there is no way to convince the online system that my old G4 has been wiped clean. I am not trying to rip off a new copy of FEC but, truly, there’s no reason for you or a machine to believe me.

Before I call Boris to see if they can help, thought I’d say hello to all my BFX and M100 buddies and post here first.

    Hi,
Well I have good news and bad news for you. The bad news is that we have no way to unlock the outdated PACE copy protection. The good news is that you can upgrade to FEC 4.02, which uses an entirely new and much friendlier installation and copy protection scheme. While we call it an “upgrade,” the new version is a full install so it’s not a true “upgrade.”
