  • Feature Request – Saving Favourite FX to apply group properly

Just before you shout, “you can, you can!”

I have applied two boris continuum fx with keyframes and would like to be able to apply that to a number of clips as a single favourite. It is almost there but there is one massive problem.
When you apply the effect, it remembers the keyframe position in relation to the offset from the file start. In my case, the original source clip I applied the original effect to was 5 mins long, and so now the clips which have had that favourite folder applied to them display the same keyframes, but about 4 minutes past the out point!!!

So the suggestion is for FCP to be able to choose to apply and scale keyframes OR to apply keyframes starting at IN point OR starting at OUT point. At least this way the keyframes will be in the ballpark!

    yeah, that[‘s annoying,
and would be good if they fixed that.

a workaround is to COPY the original clips and Paste Attributes: Filters.

    that works,
but you have to keep a dummy clip hanging around.

    cheers,
    nick

Hi nick, yep, that works, but then it pastes ALL filters, and so your dummy clip would have to have exactly the same filters, no more. It also applies the filters scaled to the clip size, so if you have a short clip and a very long one, the filters will animate very slowly for the long one, which is usually not what i want.

    thanks mate

Uncheck scale attributes to time in the paste attributes dialog.

    All the best,
