Feature request, recent posts filtering

Hi Bouke,

We may already have what you are looking for!

The range of past posts is user-selectable under a pop-up menu. We set different defaults for each forum, based on the amount of traffic there. Otherwise, a setting of 2 weeks would make some forums take forever to load because they have dozens of posts every day, whereas forums like the Letters to the COW Team forum may only get one or two posts per week.

In any case, we make it possible for you to override the defaults with this pop-up.

If you select “New Today”, those are the only ones you’ll see.

You should also set your forum view as shown here:

This sorts threads with newest posts at the top. By clicking on the timestamp of the most recent post as shown at the far right of each thread title, you can go directly to that post.

Try those options, and see if this is what you are looking for. If not, please let us know!

Sorry, I wasn’t clear.
I meant the ‘show recent posts’ on the SEARCH page. This shows the last 12 hours of ALL fora.

Makes more sense now?

Hmmm, I’m still not sure I understand.

On the search page, there’s a More Options link.

There, you can control or option + click to select individual forums to search in, as well as select the length of time to search in the past.
