Feature Film on DVX100, 100A, or 100B

Lots and lots of films have been shot on the DVX series of cameras. Some have gone on to some rather notable success; there were five DVX films in the theaters at the same time last year (Murderball, 9 Songs, The Aristocrats, November, and “Mad Hot Ballroom”.) Murderball was nominated for an Oscar, and won “Best Cinematography” at Sundance in the Doc category; “November” won Sundance’s “Best Cinematography” prize too.

Plus there are probably hundreds of direct-to-video films that have been shot on the DVX cameras.

[Papillonmovies]

We are having compression issues in our DVD conversion of “The Bracelet of Bordeaux”. The DVD looks great on computer screens, plasma screens, CRT’s, and projection screens. However, it looks really bad on LCD screens. Are you familiar with this problem? Lots of aliasing problems and oversaturation of warm colors, but only on LCD screens. Solutions?

Again- greatly depends on what LCD and how you’re connecting to it and from what type of DVD player. Most LCD’s that aren’t Dells or Apple cinema displays can be easily made to look pretty bad.
