  feature dual audio PB

  Avid Gurus,

  Got a complex Audio problem. Feature film shot digital, with dual sound recording. Need to post sync my audio and make subclips. Not a problem on normal dialogue tracks. BUT, this is a musical and I have a music PB track. The editor needs to see the TC metadata display for both tracks during post. There will be two audio slates to match TC to in post.

  The take starts and half way in the PB music cue starts. When I sync the dialogue track from the head, and I want to lay in the PB track for that take (matching to the TC of the tail PB slate). That works but I can not make a subclip of that take. Since the PB audio track does not start at the head, Avid can not make a subclip. It only makes a clip from where the second PB track starts. I tried to add a ‘dummy’ track of ‘no sound’ audio at the head of the PB channel, but then I have 2 different TCs for that audio channel, and again Avid can not make a subclip with two audio clips in one track.

  Surely there is a way to handle PB tracks, right?
