  • Feature difference between Decklink HD extreme & Multibridge Pro?

Posted by Herb Sevush on August 25, 2006 at 3:34 pm

Other than the breakout box and the ability to act as a stand alone converter what woud be the feature differences between an HD extreme and the Multibridge Pro when used as part of a Final Cut NLE on a new intel Mac Pro.

    Thanks

There are two main differences between the Pro and Extreme. First – the SDI-HD capture is limited to 4:2:2 in the Pro and 4:4:4 in the Extreme and the Extreme has a DVI output to monitor HD while the Pro has an HDMI which is not the same and doesn’t output HD content to an Apple 23″ LCD.

I think we have a misconnect here. I am not trying to compare the Multibridge Pro to the Multibridge Extreme, I am trying to compare the Decklink Extreme to the Multibridge Pro.

then I think what you’re loosing with the hd extreme is the 4:4:4 (besides what you already mentioned)

    Hi,

The Multibridge Pro can act as a standalone converter and has HDMI output which is not present on the HD Extreme.
