I can do this in FCP but how do I feather the edges on an 8 point garbage matte in Premier 6? I tried laying in a crop effect and doing the edge feather but that won’t soften the matte.

    Thanks for any suggestions

Premiere has no feather, its a pita. Been requesting for some cycles now
The only effect that has feather is the circle effect.

Workaround is to drop the garbage matte on a white color matte.
Add a blur to feather this.
Use this color matte as a track matte.
    Hope this helps.

I hope Adobe adds it, this question comes up a lot. You can request it here https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform The more people do it the more likely it will happen. It was suggested to me to use the circle mask which can feather the edge. Not the same bet can be a work around.
