  • FCX does not make automatical backups anymore – what to do?

    Hi everybody,

FCX 10.3.4 does not make automatical backups anymore.
I just found 3 old BU files on my mac, about 1 year old. Recovery of FCX from this files is not possible.
So maybe some files or the mediathek is corruped.

I did already all what Blair is recommending here:
    https://www.girafxmedia.com/?p=315

    But still no backup files.

How can I force FC to start this? Any idea? Thanks!

I’ve been using “https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/backups-for-final-cut-pro/id586594646?mt=12″ for years as I think quite a few others do too. I’ve never had to revert/restore so I can’t tell you how good it would be if disaster struck!

FCPX and PPro 6. iMac 24 + MBP 15”. Near Geneva, Switzerland

Thanks, Brian, I think this is good solution.

Best regards, Gregor (Basel, so not too far from you)

    Hi everybody,
here is the solution to get FCPX to start automatic backups after stopping:
Just move all you events in a news libray like explained here:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aghkR6Nub68

The new library can be on the same disk as the old – not backing – library.

Then wait a wile till all the projects are transfered.
Close FCPX and open it again.
Make some changes in your projects or create a test projet.
Check File > Open Libray > Open Backup and see if a backup was automaticly made.
    If yes: be happy!
If no: continue testworking or waiting till FCPX started doing the automated backup.
