    Hello COWS:

Finally got FCS2, DVD Studio Pro, etc. great.

I created a Custom DVD Menu Image sequence in FCS2. Exported as Quicktime, Ran it through Compressor – creating an MPEG2 file but yet…

DVD Studio Pro will not import the file. I am getting an Incompatible Format Error. I do not get it. I checked all of my settings on both ends.

Can you someone please offer a step-by-step of what I should / could do to make this video import. I would really like to use DVD Studio Pro to get familiar with using it. Thanks.

    James,

You’re asking for step by step details, but you’re not supplying details. What settings did you check? Spell them out for us… Since we’re not there with you we need to know, otherwise we’re shooting in the dark when trying to help you. Did you use one of the several DVD presets in Compressor?

The detailed steps are (I’m not at my MAC so excuse my shorthand):

    1) Export from the FCP timeline using Quicktime Movie >> current settings
    2) Import that file into compressor
    3) Drag and drop one of the SD DVD presets onto the clip in Compressor.
    4) Import the audio and video files into DVDSP and make certain that it is set to create a SD DVD. For some reason it may come from the factory set to create an HD DVD.

    Thank you David

Another I am discovering is perhaps I should have created my menu or run it through Motion? What are your thoughts about that?

Hello, can someone help me please? My compressor stopped submitting batches, and i read a blog at (https://www.scottsimmons.tv/blog/2008/01/11/compressor-hatred-resolved/) where i learned that i had to do several steps and also spend $20 for “Pacifist” application to fix the bug. I lost enough money on the project already and was wondering which is the best way to export an hour long video from FCP 2 to DVD studio pro. DVDSP doesn’t allow quicktime files,.. or maybe only certain types. I really liked the way the end result was in Compressor. Would i lose quality exporting it as an mpeg4. Please help!
