For the first time, I’m going to be an early adopter because I WANT 3D IN MOTION SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAD. I’ll tell you how it goes!!!

—>and no, I’m not going to switch in the middle of a job 😉

[Craig Shields] “Because they are excited about the new product and it’s new features. There may be a lull in work and they will have the time to play. All due respect Walter, we all don’t think like you and your post won’t change anyone’s enthusiasm for FCS 2. You don’t really have to respond to every post.”

I didn’t say I wasn’t enthusiastic about Studio 2, just listen to my first three Podcasts and you’ll see how excited I am about the release.

What I’m saying is it really doesn’t matter who gets it first, we’re all going to get a copy. AND be aware that the first person to install it will also most likely be the first person to discover to discover problems, hence my reasoning for using a “guinea pig” system to start on.

I only see FCP 6 and Motion 3. Where are the manuals for the other apps in FCS 2?

I ordered my upgrade right after NAB and my status says “ships by May 31st”. I hope that’s the truth! I can’t wait!

I’m betting stability won’t be much of an issue in FCP 6 as it hasn’t changed that much!

Of course you’re right Walter, it won’t effect my business in any way at all, I’m currently shooting 5 min dv inserts for tv and it works perfectly as is. In fact it’ll just waste my time as I spend hours learning color, motion 3, stp 2 etc.

But I can’t help it, it’s the kid at Christmas feeling, and I don’t really understand it, what’s so exciting about computer applications?, I think it’s a kind of addiction….Counselling???

I’ve always ordered my upgrades the moment they go on sale. I’ve never had any problems doing my upgrades with FCP/S since v.1.0. And I’ve never seen the first release of an FCS upgrade be really buggy enough to be worth mentioning.

And it’s not like the current version of FCP doesn’t have some weird bugs that we just deal with. FCP6 will have some new ones, but I’m starting a project a week from now that I would love to use ProRes 422 on.
