Any suggestions on HOW I should be doing it? 🙂
The workaround I found is to use the speed tool – s s s
That is how I do all my speed changes and it doesn’t ripple.
I thought I had tried the menu option of changing speed since the FCS3 upgrade.

Color 1.5 . That alone is worth the price of an upgrade.

Uncheck the ripple sequence check box in the speed dialog.
