FCPX XML project sharing
I’m trying to set up a system where my assistant can send me edits via XML in Dropbox where we both have the same media on our respective machines.
When I import her XML, I get the timeline & edits, everything reconnects OK but the sizes of all the media on screen are blown up. Though, strangely, the handles around the media on screen reflect the correct size. Plus our geometry settings match when I look at her FCPX info panel.
The only thing “non-standard” about these projects is that the media is non-traditional-sized screen capture / desktop videos.
Anyone run into a similar issue or have any suggestions?

There are “spatial conform” settings on the clips in the Event. See what they are set to.
Why not just send the FCPX Project files and see if that solves it?

XML doesn’t support image scaling.
So follow Jeremy’s advice.

Will try the project file route and post my findings here.
Thanks for confirming my hunch about the size; on XML output, FCPX wrote all the linked files as 1280×720, regardless of their size, including high-res still images. Some fiddling with relinking the files a few times sort of forced things to work, but not in a way I’d consider project-ready on something critical.
