  • FCPX writing thumbnails and waveforms

I’m running the latest version of FCPX. I’m finding it infuriating that final cut seems to continually need to write thumbnails and audio waveforms, especially when zooming in and out of the timeline.

Is there any way to get Final cut to do this in one go and then be done with it??

    Thanks,
    Ben

That much thumbnail generating shouldn’t be happening. You could switch the timeline clip appearance to one without thumbnails.
You’ve already deleted preferences and render files? Did you do a simple update with X, you might need to do a clean install of you system, some people have had problems with that.

What computer are you running it on? GPU type, RAM amount etc?

Charlie, I’m running a Mac Pro 4,1 2.66 Quad, 12 gb RAM, and a AMD Radeon HD 7950 3072 MB.
