    Using the trial version 10.0.3 having used legacy for years… can’t figure out why, in a surround project, that L&R goes to chls 2 and 4 on the surround meters. In Logic and Digital Performer, I use this layout:

    L=1, R=2,C=3, Lfe = 4, Ls=5, Rs=6. And it works fine.

    Is there somewhere to find out how FCPX determines the surround channels?

    Thanks!

    For those interested, I figured it out. While pro audio programs allow one to make a custom setup inside the program for speaker assignment, FCPX uses the Audio/MIDI set up window to assign speakers to surround output. I did that, FCPX works, my sound programs work as before – so cheers,
