October 21, 2016 at 1:47 amTons of Blackmagic and AJA gear that would do what the Matrox did and more. Depends on budget and which connections you want to use.

October 21, 2016 at 1:22 pmDo you still have a need for analog out for monitoring?
Otherwise you might look at Blackmagic Ultrastudio MiniMonitor. Thunderbolt to HDMI or SDI out.Perhaps the Ultrastudio Express Thunderbolt to HDMI or analog breakout would be better for you.

October 21, 2016 at 3:39 pmI have both Blackmagic and AJA boxes for FCPX. I would stick with AJA with FCPX. The TTAP work every well, and is cost effective, but does not have analog audio out.

October 23, 2016 at 2:10 amI’m guessing your BMD doesn’t work with the new 8.x software drivers either. Mine went about 3 seconds without crashing. I didn’t waste any more time and plugged my t-tap right back in.

October 24, 2016 at 2:18 amThe Ultra Studio Mini Monitor goes HDMI or SDI with embedded audio out. As does the T-Tap. But then it’s usually easy to pull analog audio as a loop through from the audio out of most monitors.

October 24, 2016 at 12:48 pmThat’s what I’m doing with the T-tap. I pull audio from the iMac most of the time as that’s what I’m watching. But I also have the speakers hooked up to the audio out of the Flanders client monitor so I can switch to that audio as well, just by switching audio out in the iMac. There is a delay of a couple frames between the two. Basically what you see/hear coming from the t-tap or ultra studio will be a couple frames behind what you see/hear on the computer viewer.
