FCPX onMacBook with FCP7
When you install FCPX alongside FCP7 on a macbook yes it rolls up the FCP7 studio but when you try to open FCP7 it states that motion 5 is not compatible and you need to move it away and place Motion 4 in its place – so it is not easy to go from one to the other.

It is strongly recommended that you install Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5, and Compressor 4 on a startup disk that does not have Final Cut Studio (2009) already installed.

Thanks for the advice but on a Macbook it means carrying another hard disc around. I am following the advice on my towers though 🙂
