fcpx keywords list
Posted by Roger Sherman on November 30, 2017 at 2:45 pmI’m trying without success to find a list of all the keywords I’ve created for my film Becoming Jamie: Shock & Joy. I only see keywords created for each clip. When I click editor, the shortcuts window appears. I’d like to know what I chose for a particular description: was it construction or renovation, so I don’t have so many that I can’t find clips later. I’m a newbie so, I apologize if it’s right in front of me, but I’ve spent lots of time searching but can’t seem to find it.
thank you.Bret Williams replied 8 years, 5 months ago 2 Members · 5 Replies -

December 1, 2017 at 2:33 amKeywords are listed in the browser, in the event you created them in. To create keywords i right click an event and create a keyword collection. Then i meek the media and drag it to the keyword.

December 4, 2017 at 4:34 pmThank you. That I’ve figured out. It’s the list of ALL keywords that I’ve created in this project that I’m looking for. For example, I’m adding keywords to a series of clips I’ve just imported and I’m not sure if I’ve used the keywords “dysphoria” and “appearance”. If so, I’d like to change all the mentions of appearance to dysphoria.
A few may have typos and I’d like to double check
Also, when I add keywords to a new clip, keywords that I already registered don’t appear as I type. Only the ones that are in the keyword editor. Is that correct? Should it not remember all my keywords?
Finally, caps and lower case register as different keywords, so if I first entered one beginning with a capital letter and the next time enter it in lower case, I’ll have two keywords. If that’s just the way the program works, I’d like to consolidate all into one so when I’m searching I know they are all there, don’t have to search twice.

December 4, 2017 at 6:52 pmI would be happy to do that if I could see the entire list of keywords. That’s my problem. I only see keywords for the clip I’m keywording, or keyword shortcut list. How do I open the master list?

December 4, 2017 at 7:43 pmThey’re right there in the browser. Under your event(s). That’s generally how I create keywords. Right click on the event and choose new keyword collection. You can also create folders within your event to further organize your keyword collections.
