  • FCPX Cross Dissolve glitch ???

    Hey Guys,

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem but FCPX glitches on me sometime when I add a cross dissolve to certain clips. I haven’t found any rhyme or reason to it.

Below is a screen grab of the timeline

Here is a quick export of it happening, once at the beginning of the shot and another happening at the end.

    Cross Dissolve Glitch

You’ll notice that as the image is in the process of dissolving to the next image, the original image that should be leaving jumps back in real quick at the end of the dissolve.

Does anyone know why it does this? I can’t seem to figure it out.

    THANKS!

    CRAIG

I’d guess a corrupt render file? Try deleting your render files and see if goes away. I’ve had more than one weird glitch cured by doing that.

I have had the same sort of problem, but never figured it out.

I’ve seen that happen when moving transitions around. I think it’s a “leftover”render file because deleting render files has always cured it for me.

Agree with the others that it might be a corrupt render file. Let me ask you a question, do you have background rendering turned on? Try turning it off. Dissolves are realtime effects anyway and if you’re editing and moving things around, only giving FCPX a second or so at a time to render effects as you work, it’s possible that makes it more likely to have a corrupt render.
