Not bad at all! My FCPX crashed 4 times yesterday (quit straight to the desktop). Thankfully I didn’t lose any work either, which is great. Every NLE needs to figure out how Apple does their instant saving and implement it.

Are you running FCPX with external video I/O (Blackmagic or AJA)? All of my crashed seem related to my Blackmagic box.

Yes, please! Projects should have transaction journals like filesystems do.

I’d say 95% of the time crashes are related to external hardware. I can personally attest to AJA T-Tap and BMD Ultrastudio Express being the problem for years.

BUT I think it’s Apples problem. BOTH work flawlessly in other apps.

I also occasionally get what I call “benign crashes” that APPEAR to be related to font handling.

My own fault, surely. I have scads of fonts that I’ve collected for various projects over the years and hardly ever go back and purge the old stuff – so it wouldn’t surprise me a bit if triggering some that old code resulted in OS dead ends.

    Oh well.

I tend to forget that FCPX can crash these days. I used to have occasional problems with iZotope audio plugins in FCPX a year or two ago; but that went away a long time ago.

Same with Compressor, Photoshop, After Effects, and Cinema 4D.

    Good times.

I had three crashes working on a new project in a new library yesterday. Mixed variety of content, mostly pictures and internet video. Didn’t lose anything but it was the first crash I have had in some time.

Did you optimise the “Internet Video”?

I get lots of crashes. Seems related to Motion Title Templates and plug-ins. I wish they’d make those more crash proof.
