FCPX bitches over Modified Files, and will not relink!

Morten
April 19, 2013 at 1:12 pmI have not modified any files, but did export an XML, converted via XMLto7 and opened in PremierePro CS6 just to see if I was able to transfer a project. Now FCPX will not relink to some of the files!
If this issue is for real, I cannot use FCPX in my professional work!

April 19, 2013 at 1:29 pmYou should turn off the “Write XMP ID to Files” on import prefs in PPro.

April 19, 2013 at 1:55 pmQTEdit from Digital Rebellion will remove the XMP info and allow you to relink.

April 19, 2013 at 2:07 pmThanks, will try it.
I thought this issue was resolved. Will I have the same error if I edit an original in After Effects?

April 19, 2013 at 2:41 pmBy the way, you can turn off the XMP prefs in Pr and Ae.

April 19, 2013 at 7:43 pmYes. It’s a global setting. Turn it off in either and it’s off for both. The digital rebellion fixed it for me. 5 files at a time in the free trial.

April 19, 2013 at 8:16 pmDownloaded QT Edit trial, and I can see it does remove Metadata – but files will still not relink!
Maybe I can reimport from card?– No Parking Production –

April 19, 2013 at 9:22 pmYou sure you removed the meta? I found the interface a little confusing and if I remember it was a two step process. I’m sure you’ll have to quit and relaunch.

April 21, 2013 at 9:36 amI resolved the problem by reimporting. But imagine if I had formatted the card, then I would have had to do most of the edits again. FCPX should allow me to force relink, like legacy used to offer.
