    Hi,
    I’ve had playback issues (4K AVC) in FCPX for a few months now, so across several versions (10.4.8 right now ) and even with changing main cameras (FS7 before, C500II now)
    I’m aware of the stress that kind of footage puts on my MBP (MacBookPro16,1 from 2019) but strangely it plays the video without any hiccups. It’s just the audio that has hiccups every couple of seconds, for maybe 10 frames.

    The only thing, both my cameras that seem to cause these problems, have in common audiowise is multichannel audio. I don’t see these Problems with DSLR or other smaller cameras without multicam.

    Can anybody make something out of this?

    I’ve been in the habit of rewrapping our FS700 AVC using EditReady. This allows us to keep the files in place and no need to optimize. This workflow will use more disk space but it’s been worth it for us.
