Hi, we are running FCPX on Xsan with very old RAIDs, but the biggest volume gets 250MByte/s of write, and builds up to 200MByte/s of read…

But using “Add SAN-location”, it uses alot of time to open a project. The SANlocation is very nice way of dealing with different projects, but it is slow when you have a lot of stuff in you events…

    Anyone seen this ?

SAN performance is entirely dependent on the speed of the network drives and the quality of the connection- of course mitigated by available bandwidth and number of users.

Is your SAN Location deep in a directory?

Our xsan has been performing at a comparable speed to my internal drives, possibly a little faster. We have some old apple xserve raids in the mix.
