  FCPX 10.1.1 Non-responsive (video link of problem)

  Hello all-

  Here are the specs:

  FCPX 10.1.1
  iMac 3.4GHz i7 20GB RAM
  Mavericks 10.9.1

  When clicking on a clip to play in the viewer I get the spinning beachball of death. It releases, then locks up again. Same thing happens in the timeline but less frequently.
  The current project is AVCHD optimized to ProRes 1080p.

  Installed FCP on new clean install of Mavericks. Wiped the drive and did a complete clean install.

  Pro Maintenance Tools is installed and only once did a crash result in a warning about version of ProKit. Most current version is installed.

  Only two Libraries created so far, on external LaCie 3TB Thunderbolt drive.

  Tried a new user account and the normal remedies. Tried a LaCie SSD drive and FCP seemed a bit more responsive without the total freezes, but still got the beachball all the time.

  So devastated by this downtime that I can’t even use angry words. I know a lot of you understand so why scream at you?? Looking for any possible ideas. I thought I would post before I try downgrading back to 10.0.9. God knows what that will be like.
