  FCP’s Log & Transfer vs. Sony’s XDCam Transfer

  Is there a major benefit / difference to using Sony XDCam Transfer as opposed to Final Cut Log & Transfer?

  Currently we use the Sony XDCam Transfer software. We are re-evaluating our workflow and have heard pro’s & con’s concerning using FCP’s Log & Transfer instead of Sony’s XDCam Transfer Software to import HD footage from Sony 23GB Discs into Final Cut Pro. We have 5 edit suites and ingest to a shared storage system. Final Cut Server is also in the near future for us.
