Just noticed, but what is fcp’s mathod for fram blending? I ask this because I notice that when doing slow motion in after effects, it simply does not look as nice as going slomo in fcp. Fcp’s slow motion looks much more smooth. Is this a reulst of frame blendig?

If you take 30fps footage, and slow it to 15fps….TRUE slow motion like what AE and COmpressor give you is one full frame image displayed for 2 frames of video. What frame blending does is on the second frame, it blends this frame and the next as a sort of blurry image. Many people, myself included, don’t like this.

How are you doing your slow motion in AE.?

    Are you using time stretch?

Do you have frame blending and motion Blur ON?

What factor are you slowing the footage by?

Is it the same footage for FCP as AE?

    Please. Slightly more specific questions.
