    Hi guys & gals,

This is my first question here on the premiere pro forum. Hope I don’t have to many more in the future, don’t want to become and annoyce. I’ve just switched from fcp to premiere and have a question about XML. I’m hoping it can be done as if not I’m stuck with a lot of extra work.

Anyway I have about 20 x 15min videos I’ve edited and subtitled on fcp7. Now I want to port them over to premiere pro and continue doing any future changes to them there. Also I’ll be doing more of these videos in the future so it would be easier just to have them all on premiere pro than bouncing back and forth between fcp and premiere.

I did the subtitles in the Boris text generator on fcp and was wondering if there is a setting or plug in on premiere that will allow premiere to recognize these subtitles when I import the XML file. I really don’t want to redo all these subtitles again.

Thanks for reading my post and any help you can give to a premiere pro newbie.

    Cheers
    James

It’s a bit of a hack, but can you export the Subtitle tracks solo with alpha?

Sounds like a good idea. I know fcp can be a bit buggy with alpha channels. But will give it a try. Just hope the censors don’t come back with changes hahaha

Why don’t you try asking Boris? https://www.borisfx.com/ Their plug-ins work in Premiere and many others. Graffiti is probably very similar and might be able to import your subtitles. Phone is 888.772.6747 and their sales guys are very knowledgable.
