  • FCP7 won’t ask if I want to Conform my sequence.

    Strangest thing. My usual workflow is to convert my clips to prores, make a project, make a sequence.

    drag a converted clip to the seq timeline, get prompted to conform my seq and say yes.

    been going crazy the last couple of hours because it’s not prompting me anymore and not conforming the sequence to the clip.

    -user pref/editing auto conform sequence tab set to ‘ask’

    -trashed prefs/ rebooted

    -tried other qt formats. same thing. FCP stopped asking.

    I haven’t changed or added anything on the system in the past few months and it’s been the same process for years, for some reason it’s not letting me do this today.

    What the heck could possibly be going on???

    Just a dummy check – is the sequence that is not prompting you incorrect for the media?

    It won’t ask you to conform if the footage already matches the sequence…

    You can set this in your FCP system/user settings,

    cheers

    @Bill

    Wish it was something that easy.
    Sequence defaults at DV NTSC and my clips are ProRes. All red when I throw it on the timeline, no prompt

    if you are throwing multiple clips to the timeline, and they are not al the same format,
    then FCP wont ask.

    Hey did you manage to work this issue out and if so do you remember how? I am having the exact same problem.
