FCP7 Share and Send to Compressor features
Hello FCP7 Users,
I’ve just used the share feature to do a background export of 23 sequences. Seems to take slightly longer to export SD sequences that are about an hour long. I would estimate it to be 5-7 mins longer, for a rendered sequence. But works fairly well while processing. No stutter issues yet.
My only qualm with this is: Neither the Share nor Send to compressor feature, sticks to the sequence setting where audio track output is concerned. I cannot get share or send to compressor to export more than 2 audio tracks which is a major set back since I always need to export at least 4 tracks of audio.
Any one know what I am missing here or did they just release FCP7 without testing this type of export on these two features? Let me know thoughts or other info that would let me know where I can set this setting right. Because just setting it in the sequence settings is worthless. Nevermind that this setting always exports the desired number of tracks from your standard export to quicktime option.

What’s your standard quicktime option? Export to QuickTime Movie or Export to QuickTime Conversion?
Could you tell us what format you’re working in and how you have set up your tracks for export? What specifications are you exporting to exactly? Have you made your own presets in Compressor or are you using Apple presets?

Not to drag this thread totally off-topic, I tried a ‘share’ export to iPhone for a 2 minute sequence I wanted to show someone. I gave up after 10 minutes – it said the export would take 45 mins. The sequence was 1080i50.
The same export using quick time conversion (iPhone preset) took 4 mins.
This was on an Octo-core 3.0 Mac Pro.
