I was hoping someone might be able to answer this one. We’ve been using standalone QT exports from FCP7 as masters (NOT quicktime conversions). As these files require FCP7 be installed to access the codecs needed to use them in other applications, I wondered if anyone out there had tried importing these files into a “stand alone” version of FCPX? That is to say, will the FCP7 QT files play back on a system with ONLY FCPX on it and NOT FCP7?

Trying to determine if this format is now legacy as well and if we need to convert our masters to something more future friendly. Many thanks for anyone capable of doing this quick simple test.
