FCP7 or MPEG Streamclip progressive issue?
I love Streamclip the app and use it often but have an odd issue converting HD AVC clips from my DJI Osmo camera (all progressive) to prores clips. When I put the converted clips from Streamclip in the FCP sequence (set to prores progressive) and then check the clip’s properties, it says it’s upper field dominant. Why?
The FCP-ready clips should still be progressive. I’m wondering if this is an FCP issue, not reading the clips properly. Or is it a Streamclip issue? Where it says Deselect for progressive movies, the two live buttons Interlaced Scaling and De-interlace Video are not selected, though the middle button Reinterlace Chroma is selected but greyed out.
What makes me think there’s an FCP issue is because even when I throw in the AVC clip – which of course won’t play cos FCP can’t handle it – the clip property also suggests it’s interlaced.
