I have several projects in a 29.97 sequence that incorporate clips at 23.98. FCP7 adds its shitty pulldown where it dups every 4th frame. My remedy has been to lay all 23.98 content onto a new track, media manage those clips with 10 frame handles, run through AE to add 3:2 pulldown, then reimport my clips into FCP7 and conform to proper sync (it was tedious, and sucked).

What is killing me now is that FCP7 is adding it’s pulldown to my new clips, which are all at 29.97 -and I can’t really figure out why. These are essentially all new clips at 29.97 imported into my sequence, so there’s no reason at all to think they’re 23.98 and need pulldown added.

    any ideas?

Yes, every file is at 29.97 and has a visible 3:2 cadence pattern when opened in QT.
